The All India Ex Services Welfare Association became THIRTY YEARS old on 21 Nov 2011.

To mark this huge milestone they organized a Sainik Sammelan at Charkhi Dadri on 22 Jan 2012. The Chief Minister of Haryana, Ch Bhupinder Singh Hooda very kindly graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Right from early morning the Veterans started pouring in by various means of transportation. On arrival at the New Anaj Mandi they were served tea and given packed lunch. By the time the program started the entire Mandi was chock a block full.

      Remembering Stalwarts Who Are No more.

Before starting the proceedings Brig Bhagwan Singh, the Secretary General requested all to rise and observe two minutes silence in the memory of those who were not with us.

Our Stalwarts Honoured

The Association honored their 15 members for their past services in making the Association what it is today . The names are SUB DAYANAND,SUB RISAL SINGH, CAPT AMAR SINGH, HAV HUKAM SINGH, HAV BHIM SINGH, SUB RAM CHANDER, SUB SHIV SINGH, CAPT KISHEN LAL, RIS HARDE RAM, SUB RAM NARAYAN, all from Haryana. CAPT CHUNI LALDELHI, CAPT GURCHARAN SINGH PUNJAB, SUB HARIBHAO BABURAO SHINDE MAHARASHTRA, HAV PHOOL SINGH RAJASTHAN, LT SS BHANDARI UTTAR PRADESH. Ch Bhupinder Singh Hooda very kindly gave away the Citation, Shawl and a Momento to the Stalwarts.

Vocational Centres Donated

The Association Chairman Lt Col Inderjit Singh donated ten Vocational Centers for initiating the families to look after themselves by doing tailoring work in their villages. Of these one each was given to Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Maharashtra and the remaining six were given to Haryana. The letters of intent were presented to the State representatives by Ch Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Chief Minister.

Memorandum Presented

The Chairman Lt Col Inderjit Singh then presented the Memorandum to the Chief Minister about the problems of Veterans both at State and Central level and appealed to him for his kind indulgence to have those solved.

    Haryana Problems

⇔   Shortage of Secretaries ZSB to be made up.

⇔  Welfare grants to be revised. The system of DA should be applied so that their is an automatic       increase of such grants.

⇔   Sainik Rest Houses to be repaired or reconstructed.

⇔   Defense colony scheme to be revived

⇔   Toll Tax exemption for Veterans

⇔   Meter reading contracts for Sarva Bharat Ex servicemen Cooperative Society Ltd (AIEWA).

⇔   Pataodi War Memorial Land to be given to National War Memorial Trust

⇔  OROP. The Chief Ministers help was sought to have the matter expedited.

⇔  Establish instruments for solving problems

⇔  ECHS to be scrapped and Medicare Policy scheme to be brought in

The Chief Minster then addressed the huge gathering. He assured the Veterans that he would do what ever is possible to solve their problems. He announced the acceptance of all our submissions. He went on to put across all the benefits given to Veterans in Haryana.

Before ending his speech, he was kind to give the Association Rs 10 lacs from his discretionary fund to enable us to continue to do the good work for the Veterans.

The Sammelan ended with the Secretary General Brigadier Bhagwan Singh thanking the Chief Minister for his generosity to come and grace the occasion and all the gathering for coming and participating in our Celebrations.
